Q: How do I know which route to take?

Find out what street your destination is on, and what landmarks are nearby.

Look for a jeepney with a route placard that passes by the street of your destination.
Q: What's on the signs?
- Signs display endpoints and main roads/landmarks, not every stop in between.
- Sign Format: [Start Point] – [End Point] via [major roads/areas] ex. Ayala - Mantrade via Pasong Tamo
- A jeepney with no placards means it's not in service
- Jeepneys don’t have fixed stations and drop-off points
- Stay vigilant! Some jeeps can turn to side streets based on traffic
Q: Where do I look for route signs?
Look at the parts highlighted in yellow: placards on the windshield and signs on the sides.
Navigation
- Do not hesitate to ask fellow passengers or the driver for help
- Jeepney and signage colors aren’t standardized, so don’t rely on that as a guide
- Always confirm what direction the route is going
- Jeep routes often connect to other modes of commute, such as LRT, MRT, and bus stations. Some signs mention those stations.
Q: Where can I get on and off the jeep?
- You can board a jeepney when it’s stopped, and some roads have designated loading zones
- You can usually ask to be dropped off anywhere along the route, as long as it is safe and legal to stop
- say “Para po” when approaching your stop
- Some jeepneys have a wire you can pull to signal to the driver

Open waze/google maps and input your destination as an additional guide with estimated time of arrival
Q: How much will I pay?

Say “bayad po” to ask fellow passengers to kindly pass the fare forward to the driver, and do the same for others.
Use coins and exact fare as much as possible as drivers may not always have exact change (hence the saying “barya lang sa umaga”)
Jeepney Etiquette
- Seats near the entrance are meant for seniors, pwds, and pregnant women as courtesy
- Make space for others
- Avoid blocking entrances! You can place your belongings on your lap, between your legs, or under the seat
- Be ready to get off quickly
